COVID 19 Relief

SGIF helped out in relief efforts for people who were adversely affected by the nation wide lock down imposed in March 2020. We started a Need Help Can Help campaign where people in need of medicines or ration could call our help line requesting for help. We received more than 11,000 between April and August 2020 from states across the country. We conducted direct cash transfers to help more than 4200 people to the tune of more than 10.7 lakhs.

Recycling and Working with Waste

India faces major environmental challenges associated with waste generation and inadequate waste collection, transport, treatment and disposal. Handling and recycling of plastic waste makes the challenge even more daunting. We have been selected by Indian Oil Corporation as one of the top 12 start-ups to create sustainable livelihoods from low value waste plastic. Since August 2019 we have recycled more than 90 tons of waste plastic and diverted it from land full. Planting Trees

Planting trees is the easiest way to fight climate change. We continue to work with marginal farmers to plant fruit trees to help fight hunger and climate change. We have planted more than a half a million trees in various parts of the country.
